James “Jim” E. Loughman, 78 of Temperance, MI, died Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Medilodge of Monroe.  Born January 12, 1938, in Erie, MI, he was the son of James C. and Aletha Mae (Hoel) Loughman.  He was a 1955 graduate of Monroe High School, and then served his country in the US Army.  Jim married Nancy M. Teal on February 2, 1968. He was employed as a dock worker for Yellow Freight in Detroit, MI.  Jim was a member of Erie United Methodist Church and the Michigan Wolverine Artifacts. He enjoyed playing pool, arrowhead hunting, his dogs, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Nancy; sons, Michael (Evelyn) and Jeff (Heather) Loughman; grandchildren, Jaryn and Kira Loughman and “adopted son”, Jeff Schultz.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents and  2 sisters, Florence Ann Farner and Janet Pratt.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Friday, September 9, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where a memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm.  Memorials may be made to the Monroe Humane Society or Promedica Hospice.  The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Medilodge of Monroe for the care given to Jim during his stay. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
